What Does a Support Worker Do?

As a support worker at Shifting Sands Support Services, your role is all about empowering participants to live with greater independence, dignity, and connection. You’ll play a key part in helping individuals achieve their personal goals and live life on their terms.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with personal care and hygiene

We’re Looking for Team Members Who:

  • ave experience and a genuine passion for working with individuals living with a disability and/or mental health conditions

  • Bring a proactive attitude and a positive, uplifting approach to every situation

  • Are solution-focused, resilient, and know how to bring joy into their work

  • Understand Workplace Health & Safety principles and hold up-to-date First Aid and CPR certification

  • Have a valid driver’s license and reliable transport

  • Hold a Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent experience or currently studying)

  • Possess a current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Blue  Card

  • Are flexible with work hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and the occasional sleepover shifts
